MARIA BARTON

Born and raised in Gijón, a small city in the north of Spain where, according to the local newspaper, there are more dogs than people under 25, Maria’s career began documenting skateboarding more than 15 years ago. Her roots greatly influenced her fashion and commercial work approach, infusing it with dynamism and boldness.

She also worked as an art director for a few years after studying art direction and creative direction at Central Saint Martins, to later return to her true passion as a photographer and director. Berlin-based photographer and director Maria Barton’s work shows an intimate and honest relation- ship between the subject and the viewer. The Spanish’s intuitive and genuine approach has led her to work with clients like Vogue Spain, Pull&Bear, Tom Tailor, Esprit, Lounge by Zalando, Hype- beast, Cosmopolitan Germany and more.
